Blog Make-Over

How do you like my new look? Isn't it just the cutest thing ever! I was lucky enough to won a Blog Make-Over by Lorilei Murphy . She has her creative little fingers in so many pies, and has even opened up her own little store. Just click on her name above to visit her website. While there, don't forget to leave her a little love, and mention to her that you saw my pretty make-over! I am just tickled-to-death with it!

I am still battling this bronchitis, asthma, allergy, what-ever-the-heck I have had for the last couple of weeks, and just not up to par yet but I have made a few pages that I wanted to share with you tonight.

I am so in love with the Joyful Awakening Collection by Rina Kroes!
I created this page with my son Nicholas' youngest daughter who just recently turned six years old! She celebrated with a Sweet N Sassy Salon Party, complete with a manicure, a pedicure, karoke!. I used Rina's Joyful Awakening Danglement Frame Cluster. For additional credits you can visit my gallery by clicking on the image.
I created this next magical scene by combining various kits from various designers.
(Just right-click the image to open a new window and be taken to gallery for a full list of credits.
I'm off to scrap a little! See you tomorrow!

Rina's Scripture Challenge

I just love Rina's Scripture Challenges at Scrapbook Elements!

PART ONE: THE CHALLENGE
1. Every Sunday morning you will receive your challenge HERE in the Scriptures Challenge forum thread (under "Weekly Challenges").
2. Each month the challenge will have a specific theme, with weekly scriptures and posting gifts related to that theme. For example, with February being the traditional month for Valentine’s Day our theme will be centered on the theme of “love” from a Biblical perspective.
3. You will be given a link in the forum thread to download the FREE scripture word art created by Rina.
4. Use that week’s word art and ANY SBE product (including store items, newsletter gifts or past challenge gifts) to create your submission, which can be whatever your heart calls you to create: a special layout, a bookmark, greeting card, calendar page, memory verse card, etc.
5. To be fair to all participants and challenges hostesses, we would prefer that you not combine the various SBE challenges but create a unique submission for each individual challenge.

PART TWO: SHOW US WHAT YOU DID
6. Once you have completed your creation, upload it to the Scripture Challenge Gallery at SBE (which can be found HERE). Remember to give credit in the description fields to the SBE designer(s) whose products you used.
7. Once your layout is posted in the gallery, hurry on back to the weekly thread and post a LINK to your layout. We want to make sure we don’t miss your creation and it also lets us know that you have completed the challenge so that we can send you your posting bonus.
8. You will have a whole week in which to complete your challenge. Deadlines will be midnight EST on Saturdays for both layout posting and forum link.
9. We encourage you to take the time to peruse the gallery for other Scripture Challenge submissions and leave some love for the other members taking part – your praise and encouragement goes a long way!

PART THREE: THE REWARD
10. For every challenge that you complete you will receive a fabulous 12x12 quick page created by Rina’s talented Muses as a posting gift. These unique pages are specifically designed around the theme for the month and will be a wonderful way to build up a very special scrapbook album as you go along.
11. We will send you the link to download your posting gift via PM (private message) within 48 hours after the challenge deadline for the week is over.
12. Very important: make sure that you have enabled private messaging in your Control Panel (go to your User CP and check that option under “Edit Options”), so that you will be notified of when that gift has been sent to you.
13. You will have one week in which to download your posting gift before the link is taken down and replaced by the link for the next week’s gift.
14. After each month's challenges are completed Rina's scripture word art will be available to SBE customers in the store. You can find previous collections of "Scripture Scraps" for sale HERE.

This is the page I created for Rina's challenge this week: Be Glad. The beautiful Joyful Awakening QuickPage and Word art by Rina Kroes makes for such a special page with the photo of my Happy GD Haylee.

Rina's beautiful collection of quick pages will be available in the SBE Store on Sunday at the special price of 25% off on Sunday and Monday. Below are my layouts I created with her beautiful Joyful Awakening Quickpages. They will be posted in MY GALLERY at SBE soon if you would like to take a closer look.

A Freebie For You!

I had a wonderful time at the Scrapbook-Elements 5th Anniversary Celebration last week. I was busy all week participating in the fun challenges (I did not miss a single one this time!) and "met" several new friends whom I look forward to seeing more often in the forum there. It has gotten me in the mood for NSD - National Scrapbooking Day, which will be during the first of May, so I must really start saving my pennies for that big event in the digi-scrapping communities!

I am looking forward to this week for tonight is the last night of the NCAA Basketball!!! Hooray! This week I can have the TV and watch my favorite shows so I am going to offer you a little freebie today in celebration. It is a QuickPage adapted from a layout I posted today featuring Charming Day Mini Kit by Kimberly Stewart
The download link will be at the end of this post.

Another member of The Royal Court, Muse Lor has a treat for you as well featuring Sweet Delights by Rina Kroes. Just click on the following image to visit her, and please leave her a little love as well.

And HERE is your treat from Moi! Enjoy!

April is Month of the Military Child

In 1986, Defense Secretary Caspar Weingberger designated April as Month of the Military Child, a time when each branch of the military service recognizes the sacrifices made by the children of parents who are serving our country. During April, military bases around the world will honor these young American heroes with special events just for them.

You don't have to have a family member serving in the military to get involved. Here are two websites with information and ideas on how we can all say thanks to our military and their families:

Month of the Military Child was created by a partnership between The American Legion Auxiliary and Connect And Join. Here, educators can find ideas on ways to recognize and pay tribute to military children through the use of arts and crafts.

America Supports You was created by the Department of Defense to give citizens the opportunity to express support for our troops and their families. You can send an encouraging email and find links to your state to see how you can get in involved locally.

When a parent is serving their country, their children are serving, too. Over 1 million children currently have at least one parent serving in the military on active duty. These families endure long separations and often are required to move multiple times during their parent's service. This is a time to pay tribute to these kids and recognize the commitment, sacrifice and support they show as they face the special challenges of being a military child. To those children, and their parents, I would like to say thank you!

In commemoration of this event here is the layout this Military Mom has made with her Military Sons and Grandchildren. God Bless my Heroes!

I made the above layout with the lovely Scripture Word Art from Rina's Scripture Challenge at SBE. (For a complete list of credits, just click on the image to be taken to my gallery.)

Every Sunday morning you will receive your challenge HERE in the Scriptures Challenge forum thread (under "Weekly Challenges"). You will be given a link in the forum thread to download the FREE scripture word art created by Rina. Use that week’s word art and ANY SBE product (including store items, newsletter gifts or past challenge gifts) to create your submission, which can be whatever your heart calls you to create: a special layout, a bookmark, greeting card, calendar page, memory verse card, etc. Upload it to the Scripture Challenge Gallery and post the LINK to the forum thread before the deadline to receive a fabulous 12x12 quick page created by Rina’s talented Muses as a posting gift.

We hope that you will enjoy taking this journey with us and look forward to seeing your creations at Scrapbook-Elements!
