Something Nautical

Rina has assembled a little "Something Nautical" for all the sea-faring, boat-loving, yacht-sailing lovers out there. Whether you are navigating the seven seas, taking it easy on a luxury cruise or simply relaxing on the marina or beach, this collection is perfect for capturing all the maritime memories of the sailor in you.

As we are a water-loving family AND I have a son in the NAVY, I am going to have a lot of fun with this beauty!!! In this first page, My DS #2 sent me this photo when he was stationed in Alaska in 2000. Although they are hard to see in this photo that Nicholas took from the ship, there are seals on the buoy.

For the Magical Moment Challenge at Enchanted Studio Scraps, I chose the quote by Pierce Harris from the Atlanta Journal with photos from when my DS#1's family went down to Mississippi to visit him while he was working with the Hurricane Katrina Rescue in Mississippi.

“Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things.”

I created a little piece of word art for you with Rina's new Sea Spirit Alphabet
I used it on the above page.

The frame is not included and is used for preview purposes only.
I hope you like it, and if you download it, I would love it if you could comment, or holler at me in the Chat Box on the side.

Troubled Waters

In keeping with my Sea theme I have going this week, I have to show you these two layouts that I finished with the Sea Spirit Page Set by Rina Kroes. I adore this kit with its blue/green colors and lovely sea elements. I see many more pages coming from me with this kit!

The mellow sounds of Simon & Garfunkel immediately came to my mind so I used the lyrics in my scrapping last night!
You can go to my SBE Gallery for a complete list of credits and to leave a comment, if you would like...or click image for DST Gallery

On this next layout I am giving you a sneaky peek at a couple of the lovely NEW RELEASES at Scrapbook-Elements coming Sunday from Rina Kroes! Companion pieces, a most beautiful Danglement and an Alphabet for her Sea Spirit Page Set, and don't forget they will be on sale for two days only!

Happy Scrappin!

By The Beautiful Sea

Well, its official! Summer is here! Its the time of the year when everyone starts thinking of fun in the water. Whether you have beach photos or pictures of the kids in the pool, the stores are brimming with beautiful kits to scrap your summer memories "by the beautiful sea". I have even scrapped a few such pages this week to share with you. (For a full list of credits, just click on the Image to be taken to the gallery)

I used Kimmi's Shenanigans on Shoreline for a couple of pages for the mother of my DIL.
The Seven Up Stamp Clusters by Cathy Krenek were perfect for my DGS's Isaac's first swim photos.
I used the beautiful word art from Rina's Scripture Challenge along with her new release, Sea Spirit page set for this page with my DS#2 and his wife.
Dani Moy, has a new fun kit, Put The Lime in The Coconut and it is currently on sale as well!
I love that lime color and I used it for a Key West Vacation page for my brother's album!
Happy Scrappin!

Sea Spirit by Rina Kroes Designs

I have been a big fan of Rina Kroes for several years. I first found here when I began digi-scrapping at Scrapbook-Bytes and I have stalked her ever since following where ever she goes! I am so fortunate to be a part of her CT! With each new release, I have a new favorite for she never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and talents!!! Her new Sea Spirit Page Set is no exception!

Escape to the free open spaces and tranquility that the ocean has to offer with Rina’s “Sea Spirit” collection. Calm and soothing hues of aqua, turquoise and blue blend beautifully with neutral taupe and sandy colors to sing you a symphony of solace. Textures abound and contrast with each other to provide a delectable variety – the delicacy of sheer ribbons, the grit of sand, the shimmer of shells, the weathered look of polished glass, pebbles and driftwood, the sparkle of stars and beads, the natural feel of rope, twine and wood. Beautifully crafted beach scenes create awesome backgrounds – perfect for all your holiday memories and beachcombing adventures. I have used it for two beautiful pages to share with you today

And of course, I just had to make some matching word art to share with you today as well!
I hope you enjoy it and Happy Scrappin!

Prom 2009

I had to show off my beautiful Grandchildren!
William was in Chicago, Illinois and Eleana was in Jacksonville, Florida but these cousins shared another milestone as they both attended their High School Proms with their sweethearts this month.

ROSEY POSEY STUDIO

Have you heard the news? Another Muse has entered the world of designing! Lorilei Murphy has opened her own store, Rosey Posey Studio and you will just love her style, I promise! I was lucky enough to get to play with two of her kits today.

My niece sent me some photos to scrap for her, and it got to be thinking... Sometimes I don't really know what to do with the photos people send me to scrap but they must be special to them for "Every photo has a Story" so I hope these pages I scrap bring joy to her.
Sugar is a sweet kit full of handmade flowers and elements. Great for baby albums or the fun loving toddler! Sugar comes with 4 Element/Frame Clusters and two Word Art Clusters.
Sugar has 51 elements and 11 papers. This kit is Scrap 4 Hire Friendly as well!
The Sugar Song Lyrics by The Archies came to mind when I saw this kit, and perfect for this photo of my Granddaughter who needs Granny to sing to her and put a smile on that pretty little face!
Sweet as Sugar is a Scraplift of Your Doll, a page I found in my inspiration folder but I failed to note who made the cute layout or where it was posted at. I hate it when I do that for I would love to give credit to the artist...its like I am stealing from her talent, so whomever the artist is, I thank her for the inspiration which was just perfect for these photos of my youngest Grandchild, Miss Haylee.
These are just two of the pretties you will find at the Rosey Posey Studio so I hope you go check it out soon! Happy Scrapping!

Scrapping Today

There are so many other things I should be doing today on my 10th Wedding Anniversary but Hubby had to work, and I have so many pretties that I purchased on National Scrapbooking Day-well, I just want to play!!!

And I want to remind you that today is the last day to grab Rina's NSD Grabbag at the incredibly low price of $2.95. This Grabbag is so huge-it is one that just can not be missed! I made the following layout for Rina's Scripture Challenge with the Joyful Awakening Stacked Papers which is just one of the hidden beauties in this bag!

I made the next page for the SBE-Layout Inspiration Challenge. It is inspired by Tomorrows and Yesterdays by Danessa. I used Rina's Secrets in The Attic Page set and the In Memoriam Element Set by Kimberly Stewart and Rina Kroes. It is a heritage page for the album I am working on for the Phelps Family Reunion.

This next page was made for Build A Fairy Treehouse Challenge at Enchanted Studio Scraps.
For this challenge, I used the Sonshine Kit by Dani Moy Designs to create a Backyard Fun page with my GD and her friend playing in the water sprinkler...oh to live in the Florida sun!!!

And last but certainly not least, I made this page for my GSs! Slaton is celebrating his Fifth Birthday today-now wasn't that a nice anniversary present! I used the Just One More Level Page Set and Alpha by CathyK Designs. This is a very fun collection for all those gamers in your family!
I hope you are having as much fun today as I am!!!
see ya later!

SHENANIGANS

Are you ready for a nice relaxing Monday now after the shenanigans over the NSD weekend? I hope you enjoyed yourself and found lots of bargains! I spent, I don't know how much, lol but I got lots of bargains everywhere for $1.00 each! I sure do appreciate the designers generosity this year! I did not get to participate in very many challenges but I did win a couple of gift certificates at Funky Playground! That is always fun!

Kimberly Stewart released her Shenanigans on the Shoreline Kit. It is so cute and I just love the sandy overlays!
She also has a nice freebie to go with this kit on her blog so run over there and get it.

Here is the last NSD Freebie from me...I hope you enjoy it and all of the wonderful freebies from The Royal Court's Blog Train this weekend!

Happy Sunday

I am so pooped! I got up early this morning to do a little NSD shopping, then we spent the afternoon visiting with my brothers up at their house and just now getting home. I know that doesn't sound like much but I am still a little under the weather, and I hear my bed calling my name! But I wanted to come share my freebie with you for Sunday. This is a quickpage made from a brand new kit that will be released in the SBE store on Sunday by Kimberly Stewart-Shenanigans On Shoreline. So consider this a sneaky peek at the kit, and enjoy!!!

NSD Fever

It only comes around once a year – that special holiday just for us! National (or now InterNational) Scrapbooking Day has been celebrated on the first Saturday in May since 1994 as a way to celebrate and promote the art and craft of scrapbooking. Starting out in the paper business with numerous crops, give-aways and sales taking place on this day, it has now branched out internationally and also includes online digital scrapbooking. Throughout digi-land we are celebrating this weekend.

Here’s what you can look forward to from Rina these next few days:

(2) Next, a brand new GRAB BAG available for only $2.95 until May 4.
(3) In addition to the $1 items and grab bag, Rina's entire store* is ON SALE, marked down with 35% OFF. This sale lasts from Friday May 1st through Monday May 4th – 4 days only!
