Mixed Media Layouts

Sometimes when the kids send me pictures but I was not actually there, I don't know exactly "why this pic?". Such is the case with the photos that my son Matthew took when he went to visit his brother Nicholas whom was in the Navy and stationed in California, way back in 2000.   So I just 'made up' something and scrapped three different pages that I thought would be perfect for them!  As you can tell, I am having a lot of fun with this mixed media type of layouts! I used elements from a variety of older kits in my scrapooking stash: Urban Funk, Trashed and Between The Headlines by Captivated Visions, Celeste Add On and Breaking Point from Studio Captivated Visions, DARE to Rest on Wings of Butterflies by Angie Young, ScrapArt Studio Facebook Fan Freebie y Cilenia Curtis, Designer Stash 28 Brushes from designs by Wendy Page, & Watercolor Spills by Misty Cato. Fonts:  1942 Report, 4990810 and Idolwild HAVE A GREAT WEEK END!

Altered Art Layouts

I have always shied away from attempting altered art layouts.  The main reason is because I still have not taken the time to learn Photoshop but I love the look on all the layouts I am seeing in the galleries, and with all the new kits by the designers at Scrapbook Graphics , I decided it was time to jump on the bandwagon! For my first attempt, I decided to add further embellishments to a quick page I had been wanting to use from my stash for years:  Guy Things QP 10 by Catherine Designs.  Additional elements added are Unique elements by Studio Rosey Posey, Comic Hero Kit by Kristen Rice, Old Clipped Frames Freebie by Amy Stoffel, Lucky One shamrock by CathyK Designs, cat by Christine Honsinger’s Fiddlette Designs and kite by Kasia designs.  It turned into quite an 'incredible' page for my Grandson's photo book. Next, I used song lyrics from one of my all-time favorite movies on a page with the adorable photo of  my youngest son's kiddos. Musical: Gypsy Song:

QUICK-PAGES

"Quick pages are an easy way to create digital scrapbook pages. A quick page is a pre-designed digital scrapbook page with photo cut outs for inserting your own pictures. Rather than assembling papers and decorative elements to create a scrapbook page from scratch, you need only plop your own photos into the design. "  Throughout the digital scrapbooking community, designers are most generous with their quick-page gifts and they can be a fast yet satisfying way to help you get those memories scrapped.   Here is a layout I finished recently using a quick-page Kabra made with Cathy K Designs Autumn Days kit I have an album in my Facebook photos with some of the quick page designer gifts I have finished recently that you may want to check out.  An easy tutorial can be found here to help you get started with quick-pages http://graphicssoft.about.com/ od/digitalscrapbooking/ss/ howtoquickpage.htm  I hope to be more loyal to my blog in the coming we
