Sissy Sparrows Birthday Party

I have spent most all the day playing at Sissy Sparrows Birthday Bash If you want to get your hands on next week's new releases for free, then all you have to do is play along! Here are my submissions for the challenges, and of course, I used products made by Studio Sissy Sparrows with the photos of my beautiful daughter-in-law Carolyn. A full list of credits I used can be found in MY GALLERY @ScrapbookGraphics. Check out the wonderful products by Sissy Sparrows and I hope you plan on attending the party!

Patchwork by Studio Rosey Posey

I have several new kits from Studio Rosey Posey, and as you know by now, I am sure, I love playing with her kits!  Patchwork has been no exception.  It has some wonderful artsy papers in it, and the kit has a very homey feel to it with lots of flowers.  Let me show you what I did with it using pictures of some of my grand-children's recent trip to the Louisville Zoo. "As Long As You Love Me" Collection by Studio Rosey Posey

I hope all of you had as much fun as I did this past week with all the great sales going on during the iNSD celebrations throughout the digi-scrapping community.   I loaded up with lots of new products, and was able to check off some of the things I had on my ever-growing wish lists.  Everything is unzipped, organized and copied to both my external hard-drive and cds for back-up.  Now, I am ready to scrap! Today I played with the "As Long As You Love Me" Collection by Studio Rosey Posey from Scrapbook Graphics, and oh how I love it!  It is a pretty collection filled with Arsty/Blendy elements and papers in blues, greens and browns.  The kit includes 80 elements & 14 papers, and the Bundle includes Word Art Pak, Stamp/Brush Pak & a Set of Overlays.  Let me show you what I have made with this treasure so far... Life Is Like A Rodeo by Captivated Visions

I have long been a fan of Captivated Visions, and her talented creative team, the Captivating Sistas.  I look through her gallery at Scrapbook Graphics and wish I could be  so creative in my scrapbooking.  Lets face it, I am not but still I am very much inspired by those girls!  I purchased the "Life Is Like A Rodeo" kit by Captivated Visions   from Scrapbook Graphics and I so love working with it! I used the layout Hang In There by Patti as my inspiration for the following page. The additional elements are from The Sun of Africa mini kit from My Memories.com Darius Rucker took the lyrics from an old Bob Dylan song which was the theme from the 1973 movie Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid, and has made a country hit.  My husband and grandson love this song, and when Isaac visited us this weekend, he sat at Pap's computer loving on Teddy, and watching Darius' video over and over, singing right along with it.   The Studio Captivated Visio...

Why do I "scrap"

It seems like all I do on my blog is apologize for not being loyal to it but let's face it, there is not a single person in the world who loses sleep over my lack of commitment here.  Truth is, I get a little discouraged over that very fact so I stay away.  However, this blog was started by me, for me.  I thought my family may enjoy it but I have come to terms with the fact that to my family I am this crazy old lady they deal with only when they have to, and most of them could care less about my scrapbook pages.  Yes, I am having a bit of a pity party here, aren't I?  So get over it, Granny!!!  I really am trying... I thought about giving my blog completely up, then I thought I would completely change it and begin completely fresh with a new blog but I don't really deal well with change, as those who know me can affirm. This blog has served me well and faithfully stands by, ready,  whenever I need it, so I think I will hang on to it a little longer....

Mixed Media Layouts

Sometimes when the kids send me pictures but I was not actually there, I don't know exactly "why this pic?". Such is the case with the photos that my son Matthew took when he went to visit his brother Nicholas whom was in the Navy and stationed in California, way back in 2000.   So I just 'made up' something and scrapped three different pages that I thought would be perfect for them!  As you can tell, I am having a lot of fun with this mixed media type of layouts! I used elements from a variety of older kits in my scrapooking stash: Urban Funk, Trashed and Between The Headlines by Captivated Visions, Celeste Add On and Breaking Point from Studio Captivated Visions, DARE to Rest on Wings of Butterflies by Angie Young, ScrapArt Studio Facebook Fan Freebie y Cilenia Curtis, Designer Stash 28 Brushes from designs by Wendy Page, & Watercolor Spills by Misty Cato.
