OVER THE HILL

I am sorry to have been neglectful during the Digital Scrapbook Day weekend.  I had good intentions of doing so much but then when I became a little under-the-weather, I failed to do much of anything.  However, I was able to take advantage of a few of the blog hops, and of course, I did not miss out on purchasing a couple of kits during the great sales throughout the digi-scrap stores.  I hope you enjoyed it for I know a lot of designers and sites really worked hard, and I would like to say thank-you to all of them :)

This past Sunday, November 3rd also was my birthday, and I am at the age where I definitely have to face that I am getting old but that is ok for I am young at heart, and I definitely am not ready to face the alternative, if you know what I mean!  I was sick with sore throat and my lymph nodes in my neck were swollen but one of my sons surprised me just the same when he brought his girlfriend and her daughters down to visit me.  The girls were so excited for they brought a birthday cake to celebrate mine and Pap's birthday.  (My hubby's birthday was Oct 19th)  Their visit surely brighten our day, and made me feel better.

I used an age-appropriate kit to scrap the photos we took of our cake:  Over The Hill kit by CathyK Designs.

Birthday Wishes Over the Hill includes: 10 papers, 2 frames, 2 journal cards, 3 balloons, 3 candles, cake, cupcake, 3 gifts, banner, leafy stem, doily, curly bow, curly ribbon, paint stamp, little bow, Over the Hill badge, 2 buttons, 2 tissue flowers, 2 crepe circle stacks, 2 string, row of stitching, crepe paper strip, ribbon, 3 flowers, 2 stars, 2 swirls, 2 paper borders, 3 chalked wordarts, and 2 other wordarts.

Scrapping Today

There are so many other things I should be doing today on my 10th Wedding Anniversary but Hubby had to work, and I have so many pretties that I purchased on National Scrapbooking Day-well, I just want to play!!! And I want to remind you that today is the last day to grab Rina's NSD Grabbag at the incredibly low price of $2.95. This Grabbag is so huge-it is one that just can not be missed! I made the following layout for Rina's Scripture Challenge with the Joyful Awakening Stacked Papers which is just one of the hidden beauties in this bag! I made the next page for the SBE-Layout Inspiration Challenge . It is inspired by Tomorrows and Yesterdays by Danessa . I used Rina's Secrets in The Attic Page set and the In Memoriam Element Set by Kimberly Stewart and Rina Kroes. It is a heritage page for the album I am working on for the Phelps Family Reunion. This next page was made for Build A Fairy Treehouse Challenge at Enchanted Studio Scraps. For this challenge...

In Memoriam Collection

Anyone who has lost a loved one knows how much they cherish them and want to preserve their memory. Putting together a Memory Album is one way of remembering them, now and for future generations. Rina and Kimberly have come together in bringing you the "In Memoriam" collection that exemplifies gentleness in strength. Inside this large collection you will find a myriad of embellishments and papers that are suitable for both softly feminine and more rugged masculine pages. It is delicate and sensitive, yet strong and thoughtful. The colors are peaceful, yet with an intensity that gives them strength. You will be able to choose from a number of color combinations: from crisp silvery white and lavender, to the soft glow of gold leaf and sky blue, from warm caramel and taupe to shades found in nature, and finally to accent colors of scarlet red, navy blue and dark purple. Often times our emotions are still very raw from our loss and we may find it difficult to draw on our own c...

Hump Day with Teen Tude

Wednesday is Hump Day:and we are half-way through the week.  We here in the USA are looking forward to a big holiday weekend, the 4th of July!  I am sure my sons will take their kids to one of the fireworks shows in the area, and we always have a family cook-out at my brothers house.  I still have to try to get my stuff together for the big yard sale my DILs are having on Saturday.  But today, my husband and a few of his friends are meeting here to finish putting up the big 100 ft CB antennae tower for his "Bull Creek Sub-Station!  He loves to talk and there is always a listening audience for his foolishness on the CB.  That is about the only hobby he has, lol! For me, my love of digi-scrapping led me last night to double-check and finish some of the photo books I have to make sure they are ready for printing.  I added a couple of slide shows from these projects over on the right side of my blog so I hope you take the time to peek at them.  I ca...
